BACK FROM THE DEAD

Spirit Halloween has never had much respect for the dead: their entire existence is based on taking over the homes of Stores Past. 

But something is shifting: these entities have had enough. Our favorite stores - the ones we’ve been wishing would be given a second chance at life - are, indeed, Back From the Dead.

Blockbuster and Toys R Us Have Risen

We’re installing full service Blockbuster and Toys R Us locations within Spirit Halloweens across the country.

Blockbuster is carrying all of your favorite horror films.

Spirit Halloween is also introducing an exclusive line of horror-movie inspired costumes.

Toys R Us is introducing a line of spooky versions of classic toys.

We’re putting our horror movie and Goosebumps inspired ads in high-traffic areas in cities across America.

THE LAUNCH

The invites will lead people to the Spirit Cemetery, a plot near the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in LA that we’ve taken over to honor the most important parts of our culture.

Headstones are popping up all over Los Angeles, memorializing cultural icons that have passed. There’s also a date, time, and location on the headstone inviting people to a spooky soiree on September 30th to ring in the season.

Spirit Cemetery is full of headstones honoring stores, toys, and other beloved parts of culture that have passed on. They’re also coming out of the ground in a live action, large scale reanimation.

In honor of Blockbusters return, we’re running a Tik Tok contest. Create the best shot-for-shot parodies of horror movies using supplies around your house.

We’re bringing back Blockbuster and Toys R Us’ Instagram accounts.
